Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

In general, if we have ordered blood tests or X-rays we will explain how we expect to deliver the results. Most results are normal and we would not contact you about these.

Occasionally, however, we may suggest you ring in. In which case please wait at least a week. Please call the surgery after 11am. In the interest of confidentiality you must do this yourself unless we have prior consent; we cannot give results to anyone else.

The care navigators cannot discuss results, but will simply pass on a message from the doctor as to whether the test is normal, or if they need to discuss it with you.

Anything of a serious nature will be delivered to you directly by the doctor either by telephone or by asking you to come in.
