The University of Oxford is looking for typically developing children under the age of 4 years to take part in a study to collect data on motor developments using wearable devices, called Active-NBS.
They want to evaluate and compare the motor development of children living with spinal muscular atrophy (a severe genetic disorder affecting muscles) with typically developing children. This could help inform future care improvement in children living with spinal muscular atrophy.
Participation is completely voluntary and, if the child is eligible, they would be followed-up for a minimum of 12 months or a maximum of 30 months, dependent on what time they enter the study. A wearable device will be worn every 3 months to capture movement data and remote visits with the study team every 6 months to collect medical information.
