Meningitis B

Due to the current meningitis B outbreak in Kent, we are seeing an increase in requests for information regarding Meningitis B vaccinations. The outbreak is currently contained and the risk to the wider population is low.
If your child was born after September 2015, they will be covered for Meningitis B, as this is part of the normal childhood immunisation programme unless you didn’t attend the appointment you were offered.

If your child was born prior to 2015 and you would like to have them immunised- this is something you would need to do privately.

Men B is spread via direct contact- for example sharing vapes, drinks, kissing etc. For further information on the vaccination programme and the current situation- please see the link below
