We have now sent all our invitations to people who fit the criteria for a free NHS flu vaccine as determined by the Department of Health. If you usually have the vaccine but have not been contacted, this will be because you have not met the criteria this year. This is a good thing as we only contact those most at risk of complications.
This year the take up is much higher and the Department of Health have added some additional patients to protect those who were shielding due to Covid, so we do not have the availability of vaccines to make exceptions.
If you have not been contacted, but still wish to have the vaccine, you can buy one privately from most pharmacies.
The Government has not confirmed to us that we should vaccinate those in the 50-64 age group. If they do, those who meet the criteria will be contacted at that time.
