Milton Keynes Village Practice Statement of Purpose

At Milton Keynes Village Practice we believe the relationship between the practice and the patient is a partnership. It is our intention to provide patients with the highest standard of care and in doing so we are committed to the following:

  • All staff will undertake regular training to ensure patients receive safe care, treatment and support in line with best practice.
  • We will treat all patients as individuals and with the dignity, courtesy and respect they deserve.
  • The premises will be maintained to the highest possible standard to ensure it is continually fit for purpose.
  • We will continue as a learning organisation, to continually improve on the services we offer.
  • We will carry out regular patient satisfaction surveys, and will use the results for consideration of how we can improve service provision where possible.
  • We will work closely with the Patient Participation Group and Patient Reference Group as a vehicle for involving patients in the development of the practice and ensure that patients have a positive experience.
  • We will work with other agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • We will exercise close management of our appointments system to ensure provision meets the demands.
  • Our healthcare professionals will ensure patients are fully informed in a sensitive manner about care, treatment and support options and that patients are involved in the decision making process (within the NICE Guidelines).
  • We endeavour to provide as much information as possible about the patients’ health condition and, where choices of treatment exist, to explain them.
  • We will ensure patients have access to information about the services we provide from our staff, the practice leaflet and the practice website.
  • Our healthcare professionals will use their training, knowledge and experience to give patients advice on health and lifestyle options.
  • All staff respect patients’ rights to confidentiality and will only access records within the law.
  • We will take care of our staff, supporting them in their job roles and nurture the practice team.
  • We will continue to keep the practice financially sound.
